He won a Tony for his first singing role, playing Che in the NYC prod. of Lloyd Webber's Evita '80; Stephen Sondheim wrote the title role of Sunday In The Park With George '84 for him; he did one-man show Mandy Patinkin on Broadway: Dress Casually '89 and AIDS piece Falsettos '92, recorded Guys And Dolls for BBC Radio 2. He starred in TV series Chicago Hope about a hospital. Albums incl.
