Rock group formed L.A. '71 by schoolmates David Pack, guitar; Joe Puerta, bass; added Christopher North, keyboards; Burleigh Drummond, drums. All b '52, all accomplished vocalists and multi-instrumentalists whose ability brought date with L.A. Philharmonic and '73 debut of Leonard Bernstein's Mass in heyday of classic/rock fusion: all before a record contract. LP Ambrosia '75 incl. first of occasional hit singles, "Hold On To Yesterday'. Somewhere I've Never Travelled followed the next year, and all but North also played on Alan Parson LP Tales Of Mystery And Imagination. North not on Life Beyond LA '78 (no. 3 hit "How Much I Feel'); One Eighty '80 did even better, with "You're The Only Woman' (no. 13), "Biggest Part Of Me' (no. 3). Surviving trio gad session credits (mostly as vocal team) with Chris Rea, Kerry Livgren of Kansas, Al Stewart; nice harmonies brought AOR hit singles; last album was Road Island '82. Pack prod.
