(b 31 Dec. '33, Winnsboro LA) Top-rated country session guitarist and producer. Said to have played on 90% of country recordings made in Nashville in the '60s, incl. Bob Dylan's Nashville sessions; one of the creators of the "Nashville sound'. Later emerged as producer, becoming head of ABC's Nashville office '68-70 and president of Nugget records. Recorded for Monument ("And You Wonder Why' '67) but mainly a behind-the-scenes musical influence.
