Jamaican singer. Began early '60s with love ditties in SKA mould like "Rosabelle', "Gloria'; sang lead with the Eternals on their classic Studio One titles "Queen Of The Minstrel' and "Stars'; Bunny Lee prod. first LP Cornell Campbell '73, partnership flourished '75 with thematic "Conquering Gorgon', "The Gorgon Speaks', "Gorgon At The Ginegog' and album Gorgon, then similar series of "Greenwich Farm' lyrics, Dance In A Greenwich Farm LP '76. Big solo hit "The Investigator' '77, still with Lee; also LPs Stalowatt and Turn Back The Hands Of Time. Later sets incl. Sweet Baby, Fight Against Corruption, Johnny Clarke Meets Cornell Campbell In A New Style and Boxing, title track a hit '81.
