Played on hits with the Browns, Jim Reeves, Elvis Presley ('Heartbreak Hotel', '56) etc. Described distinctive piano style as 'whole-tone slur' or 'slip note'. Own big hits include 'Last Date' '60, 'On The Rebound' '61, both own comps. More than 24 RCA albums incl. Keyboard Kick Band '77, on which he plays eight keyboards incl. synths. Hit with theme from TV soap Dallas '80; LPs on indie Step One label were Just Me And My Piano '88, Originals '91, King Of Country Piano '92.
