(b 27 Jan. '42; d 10 Dec. '86) Country singer-songwriter. One of the best in the mould of Nanci Griffith, Guy Clark etc; she died of leukaemia just as her fame was growing. LPs on Kaleidoscope label: Back Roads with the Wildwood Flower, Lines On The Paper adding the Cache Valley Drifters, Safe At Anchor, Close To You, Poet's Heart, two-disc live Give Yourself To Love, two-disc compilation Gold In California (compiled by Wolf when she knew she would be unable to record again, with one new song). Other issues: Live In Austin, Looking Back At You, The Wind Blows Wild, all on Rhino CDs. She also contributed to Out Of The Darkness -- Songs For Survival on Fire on the Mountain label, with Holly Near, Pete Seeger, Jesse Colin Young, others.
