Worked local clubs around Atlanta for a dozen years before landing Columbia recording contract '66; several minor hits before cracking top 10 with "Need You' '72; moved to Atlantic with "Loving You Has Changed My Life' '74 and album Farewell To The Ryman same year; regularly on WWVA's Wheeling Jamboree plus appearances on Bobby Lord, Bill Anderson and Ralph Emery shows in Nashville; brief stint with United Artists '75 was followed by three-year contract with Republic plus such smaller labels as Kari, Music Masters, Hall Katt Country through '80s.
