RODMAN, Judy

(b Judy Mae Robbins, 23 May '51, Riverside CA) Country singer, songwriter and guitarist. Father played in bluegrass bands; she played in his band at age eight; sang jingles in teens then teamed with Karen Taylor-Good and Janie Fricke in Memphis nightclub group Phase II. Moved to Nashville mid-'70s as session singer; signed to MTM Records '84, country hits incl. "Until I Met You' (no.1 '86), "I'll Be Your Baby Tonight', etc. Label folded and she reverted to session work and songwriting (hits for Diamond Rio etc). Albums incl. Judy '85, A Place Called Love '87 both on MTM.
