An Atlantic LP '63 was arranged by Antonio Carlos Jobim; The Swinger From Rio '64 included Jobim and Art Farmer; he formed Brazil '65 (then Brazil '66, etc), toured and recorded with it on Atlantic '65, A&M thereafter (Fool On The Hill '66, etc). Vintage '74 on Bell included Jobim; The New Brazil '77 on Elektra (Brasileiro later on that label), Alegria '80 on WEA, Sergio Mendes '83 and Confetti '84 carried on tropical-flavoured easy listening albums. Compilations on Curb/MCA and A&M; then Oceano '96 on Verve, with guests Gilberto Gil and Hermeto Pascoal. |
