His popular vocalist '34-42 was Chick Henderson (d 1944 in the Royal Navy); 'Begin The Beguine' was a Henderson hit (while Billy Cotton borrowed the famous Artie Shaw version, Loss had his own). 'A Tree In The Meadow' reached top 20 in the USA '48 on RCA with a vocal by Howard Jones. Loss's music was still in demand in the 1980s for society affairs. |
