(b 19 October 1947, Peebles, Scotland) Singer. Doyenne of recent revival in UK jazz singing, with repertoire embracing standards, Randy Newman and jump jazz, all delivered with sparky aplomb and considerable sophistication. Recordings for Linn since 1984 included debut Carol Kidd, followed by All My Tomorrows, Nice Work, The Night We Called It A Day, I'm Glad We Met '91 and Crazy For Gershwin '94.
