ANGELETTI, Susan

Singer, songwriter and guitarist Susan Angeletti has a big, powerful take-no-prisoners voice and stage presence, but also shines on ballads: her cover of ‘Piece Of My Heart' slows it down a bit and makes it ache. She began her rise to fame on the East Coast, where she opened a show for Bluesrocker Johnny Winter and was promptly hired by his manager for a national tour. She has shared stages with Ian Anderson (who describes her as ‘a ballsy Blues chick'), Sam Andrews (of Big Brother and the Holding Company, who discovered Janis Joplin), John Hammond, Dicky Betts, Wilson Pickett and B.B. King.

Angeletti's debut album was Next Year's Model Of The Blues. Drummer Tom Hambridge, who had produced Susan Tedeschi, produced Angeletti's next, Bittersweet 2004 on Got Sole/Oar Fish Records/Utr Music Group, and played on it as well. She has since released "Live In Concert" 99 & ½ Won't Do!, containing five tracks from her opening with B.B. King at the Calvin Theatre in Northampton, Massachusetts.
