Kathy and June sang in church as children, got college degrees, began gigging; Kim joined '80, soon youngest Christy left college to join: they formed their own band, began exploring songs, harmonies; toured 35 states with country-rock group Alabama, Ronnie Milsap, Ricky Scaggs, John Anderson, George Jones, others; made demos in Muscle Shoals, signed to WEA: debut single '(That's What You Do) When You're In Love' made no. 10 in country chart, 'I Fell In Love Again Last Night' no. 1, The Forester Sisters no. 4 LP all in '85; nominated for Grammy and by ACM as Vocal Group of the Year (they won '86). They teamed with the Bellamy Bros. for no. 1 single 'Too Much Is Not Enough' '86. Their production was a tad slick but the lovely singing made up for that; Perfume, Ribbons And Lace '86 was a top 30 country album and confirmed promise of superb country rock with a heart: their four-part harmony was distinctive and their good looks didn't hurt; good songs incl. 'Blame It On The Moon' by producers J. L. Wallace and Terry Skinner, 'Back In My Arms Again' by Holland/Dozier/Holland. Third album You Again '87 was no. 13 country album, followed by A Christmas Card same year; Sincerely '88 was a top 30 album followed by All I Need '89. There were three top ten singles '89 and a Greatest Hits album; Come Hold Me '90 slipped to no. 54 and minor hit single 'Drive South' was sung with the Bellamy Bros; Talkin' 'Bout Men '91 went top 20 followed by I Got A Date '92.
