Worked as truck driver, cattle rancher, disc jockey while singing evenings in Texas and New Mexico '53-61; led The Texas Sons '53-4, member of Martin McCullough's Light Crust Dough Boys '55-7. Recorded for small Texas labels, signed with Columbia '64; 8 entries in country chart '66- 70 incl. biggest hit "Stop The Start (Of Tears In My Heart)' '66, others on Dot, Date, Chart labels. LPs incl. Mr Personality '66, Johnny Dollar '67, Big Rollin' Man '73. Died of cancer.
