Pop-country trio '75-82 with Dave Rowland (b 26 Jan. '42, Sanger CA), Vicki Hackeman, Jackie Franz; then Sue Powell, Melissa Dean, Jamie Kaye. Formed by Rowland, former pop singer and trumpeter, one-time member of The Stamps Quartet (toured with Elvis) and The Four Guys (Charley Pride's back-up group). With Pride's encouragement he recruited girls, signed with RCA; pop-styled harmony and slick stage work led to hits "Queen Of The Silver Dollar' '75, "The Door's Always Open' '76, "I'm Knee Deep In Loving You' '77, "Tear Time' '78, "Golden Tears' '79, "New York Wine And Tennessee Shine' '80, "It's A Heartache' '81, "Fool By Your Side' '81. LPs incl. That's The Way Love Should Be '77, Stay With Me--Golden Tears '79. Personnel changes led to Rowland going solo March '82 with singles "Natalie' (tribute to actress Natalie Wood), "Lovin' Our Lives Away'.
